Does NIS2 apply to a US-headquartered company?

NIS2 obligations attach to the entity operating within scope in the EU, not to where a group is headquartered. If your organization has a subsidiary, branch or service operation in Germany or another EU member state that falls into a covered sector, that entity is likely in scope regardless of where the parent company is based. The Pre-Check gives a first, non-binding assessment; a final determination should involve legal counsel.

Can I use the English templates for official filings with German authorities?

The templates are working documents for building and evidencing your NIS2 compliance internally, not pre-approved legal filings. Some official processes, such as BSI registration or incident reporting, may require submission in German depending on the current process. Check the specific requirement with the responsible authority or your legal counsel before filing.

How current are the English templates?

Each template carries a status date. On relevant legal changes (NIS2UmsuCG amendments, new BSI FAQs, EU implementing regulation) the templates are updated, in both languages, at no extra cost with the Pro subscription.
